My name is David Engel, and I am excited to bring Macaroni Kid to the towns of Fayetteville, Manlius, Jamesville and DeWitt. Since moving to Manlius in 2013, my wife, Nikki, and I have searched for a site that provided daily information on what to do in the area. Where can we take our daughters on a Saturday in January? When and where are the free story times? Where are music and movement classes offered? Who has the best cupcakes for the girls' third birthday?
You see what I'm saying. We love our community, and we're looking forward to providing a solid go-to site for parents in the area.
Who am I? I'm originally from Southern Illinois. I studied theater and English in college, took improv classes at The Second City, and lived in New York City for thirteen years. There I did one man shows, performed in Shakespeare productions, and worked for Martha Stewart Living. Currently, I teach theater and English at F-M High School.
Of course, I started this site this week, so it's pretty bare bones. It'll get there. Check back in the coming weeks. Nikki and I look forward to seeing you around town and meeting new Macaroni Kid families at great events in our community. I'll be the one with the twin girls hanging on me.
